The Eidar

The Eidar are one of the more powerful factions within The Winter Land. They are known for their powerful magic and their ability to see into the future and that is where most of their power comes from. The ruler of the Eidar is a woman named Triana and she is old at least for the standards of the Winter Land. She came to power about ten years ago and is an accomplished mage able to scry into the immediate future. She Rules the Eidar clan with wisdom aided by a council of mages that come from the smaller clans that form the Eidar. The Eidar as stated before are renowned to see the future and one of their motifs is a Raven which they believe can see the future.     Ravens Gate: Ravens Gate is the capital of the Eidar clan here Triana resides and rules. Ravens Gate is known for its libraries and wealth of knowledge and contains one of the last academies for wizards and spellcasters to train in. There is also the Forgotten City an old part of Ravens Gate that lies half-submerged into the Frozen moor. The Forgotten City is believed to have been destroyed by either a volcano eruption or a plague about 3000 years ago. The Eidar are also famous for its wide acceptance of religions and Ravens Gate even has a district where all of the temples are located. The largest one is the Keepers of the Feather which hold an extremely important role in the Eidar clan since the Keepers of the Feather are the patrons of knowledge. A second clergy that has gone under the radar for a long time is now gaining steady followers and that is the Church of The Dead Three. An extremely mysterious clergy that there seems to be no record of.       The Blood Socked Feather: Of course, there have to be problems and one of those is the Blood Socked Feather which is a group of terrorists that wish the destruction of the Eidar and the death of Triana.    Ravens Hall: At the foot of the Ice Crown Mountains rests a huge door which when opened reveals a library of unimaginable size. This is Ravens Hall a seemingly infinite library that holds all the knowledge of the world however it is filled with monsters such as zombies goals and constructs like modrons, gatekeepers and other such creatures. The Eidar have just begun to explore it and have set up the main camp inside though it is hard to make more of these camps since they are constantly raided by ghouls.

Demography and Population

The Races of Isildur and the Winter land can all be found in this city which has the following distribution. Human 38% Halflings 6% Elves 15 % Half-Orcs 10% Shifters 10% Goliaths 4% Dragonborn 5% Dwarves 10%

Territories

The Territory of the Eidar is quite straightforward. They control the eastern coast all the way from the Frozen Moor to the Ice Forrest and finally to the Ice crown Mountins. About half a dozen clans make up the Eidar and they all have sets in the council that decides what will happen to the Eidar.  All of these clans have their own town or village which they rule over but pay homage to the Eidar being the strongest out of all of them.

Military

The Eidar are not well known for their military and do not have a large army to call to battle their strength, however, comes from the mages which they can summon to wield magic and their ability to predict the future making them almost impossible to surprise. There is however one thing that the Eidar have that not many others do and that is thunderstone. Having so many mages they can create powerful storms to create thunderstones. This is both a good export and allows them to create black powder weaponry and so they have many strike teams armed with these weapons.

Technological Level

Here is the same level of Technology as the rest of Isildur.

Religion

The Eidar are known for their wide acceptance of all forms of religion and even have a special part of their main city where you can worship your chosen power. The only thing being forbidden is the worship of The Elder Evils.   The most powerful church or religion are the Keepers of the Feather. They worship Morgantha Shadowdale a mortal that turned into a god. Morgantha is the god of shadows and witchcraft and is one of the gods of magic which are a pantheon that oversees magic. Morgantha is one of the few gods that are in the Inner Planes and so can give divine power to her followers.

Foreign Relations

The Eidar have several alliances around the Winter Land but because of their preferred neutrality these relations are not great but they aren't bad.   The Frostwalker Clan: They see the Frostwalker Clan as a puppet to the real power of this Great clan and therefore hold much higher respect for the Frostwalker Order and it is always good to know a monster hunter.   The Flame: Fire is a precious resource in the Winter Land however the Eidar have their own Mages and so generally do not require the Flame. They often trade in spellcasting abilities since the Eidar is renowned for their ability to make prophecies.   The Fanged Ones: The Fanged ones are one of the only Great Clans the Eidar come into conflict with especially during the Time of Change dough to their neutrality and strategic position the Eidar have been unable to stop them in taking over the Fortress of Roses. The Stratigic possison of the Fanged Ones is quite clear and that is they stand on the mouth between the Winter Lands and the rest of Isildur and so all trade must pass through the island.   The Frostshields: They are bitter enemies with the Eidar for a simple reason they hate magic and they have many times over to defeate the Eidar in their forever crusade but have always fail. A war is raging between them and the Eidar but thanks to the distance needed to get to their (mostly because of monsters) and the fact that the Flame are closer they tend to leave them alone.

Agriculture & Industry

Because of the eternal winter in the Winter Land, no food is farmed and so the Eidar have several exports they rely on to keep their society afloat.    The Eidar as all with access to the mountains gather minerals and stone from it this is often the main thing that the Great clan's trade-in and the Eidar are no exception but the Eidar also have the added resource of thunderstones which they have a small monopoly in this part of the Winter Land. The Eidar also have three silver mines. These mines are one of the pillars on which the economy of the Eidar rest on. The other two being Magic and the Frozen Moors.    The Eidar are renowned for their witchcraft and they gather herbs and other magical flowers (even mundane ones) that they use as remedies. Sometimes even finding ruins or magical items in the Moors which they can sell. Magic is also a great resource and so the EIdar sell spell components and spell scrolls in addition to casting certain spells mostly to guard residences.

Trade & Transport

Transport is a difficult thing especially for a world full of monsters however the more powerful mages of the Eidar can set up teleportation circles which they have with many of the large agricultural areas of Isildur and beyond dough, to this, the Eidar have very little starvation in their cities. This powerful magic the Eidar sometimes gives to the other clans and when they do they are grateful but dough to the time it takes and the cost of having to set up a teleportation circle this is not widespread.

Education

The Eidar have a lot of libraries, schools and ways to educate themselves and this is a fact they pride themselves on. They have by far the highest educational level in the Winter Lands.

Infrastructure

Just like most of the Great clans, the Eidar is made up of many smaller clans with Ravens Gate being the capital. Many of these smaller clans do not have the same wellbeing as Ravens Gate but they all share a network of roads, Sewers/catacombs, libraries, schools and many have some sort of fort or citadel to retreat to if the main town should fall though this might only be encountered in the towns, not the villages.
