Preface

Communication in Isidoro is incredibly varied, given the combination of magic and technology within the continent. While many areas of Isidoro are using common, every day technology such as social media and the internet, other places and species may resort to 'old-fashioned' types of communication.


Magical communication is readily available for all, though people with varied magical skill may need the aid of a MEI to give them enough mana to use said communication.

Isidoro takes place in modern times, and as such the Internet and widespread communication is well documented. Some of the older generation still have qualms with using online devices, but the younger generations have adapted quite readily. Communication with people far and wide have never been easier, as long as when you use these devices you're able to connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot or get a signal.

Some magical beings have gone to shops to get specialized cellphones and the like; this will be discussed more in Magical Forms of Communication.

While Isidoro still has a generous amount of technology at its disposal, some people simply don't want to use it, or are unable to due to their place of living or culture. Stones of Far Speech for example, are often carried when traveling to areas where signals are spotty, and cellphone service wouldn't be available. Mods to technology to attempt to combine them are common, and people can occasionally be found using a cell-phone with a Stone of Far Speech welded into or attached to the casing of said phone.

Telepathy is used typically in short distances, but still far enough that people are out of sight; the length the 'signal' or thought is able to travel depends on the sender's magical talent, and it isn't uncommon for people to use Magic Enhancing Items to help their message travel longer distances.
