Sand skiff

Often found in the deserts to the south and west of Solanaveldt, sand skiffs are a popular method for travel across barren deserts and even occasionally grasslands. While animals being used in caravans is still the most common and popular form of transportation, it cannot rival the speed allowed while using a skiff, even on low wind days. These vehicles are designed to be as light as possible so that their sails can make the most out of the wind they are receiving. While one, two, and three person skiffs are the most common, there are stories that there are ones constructed large enough to hold up to ten people. Being as there is no manufacturer, there is no single design, and folks make whatever their skills allow. This allows for a wide variety of skiff design with much argument about what aspects or designs are the best.
