Aurou (ɑʀɔ)
The Wingmaster, lord of the skies and all which flies upon the winds. Aurou is perhaps the most imperious of the Children, regarding himself as a king. He is noted for fashioning incredibly beautiful creatures to populate his domain while also creating incredible engines of destruction.
The other Children seem divided between respect for their elder brother and resentment for his superior attitude. Aurou's closest allies among his siblings are Upe and Rugiai, who together form the pillars of civilization, and this union is the reason his sense of superiority is rarely directly questioned. While Upe is more content to remain within his own realm and Rugiai focuses more on his mortal worshipers, Aurou desires rulership over not just creation but over his siblings as well.
Throughout mortal history Aurou is seen variously as a divine king who grants his favor upon righteous rulers and as a brutal force of nature destroying all in his path. Those who rely upon the winds or winged beasts for their livelihoods praise his name as do any who fear the wrath of the skies.
In Rema there is a vast cult that worships Aurou and Upe as the brother-patrons of all sailors. In this realm more than any other their unified power is supreme and even their ally Rugiai takes a secondary role.
There is one realm that views Aurou as a hated foe of their supremacy and that is across the Federation of Advent. While the average Adventi gives little thought to the lord of a realm which never impacts them, the Adventi priests of Upe claim that the alliance between the Wingmaster and the Wavetender is only thanks to Upe's generosity toward his brother. Upe's lack of direct action against this belief has led to countless conflicts between the two brothers, though neither seems willing to break their alliance.
Divine Domains
Aurou is master of all the skies, the winds, the clouds, storms, and is lord of all things which fly. He is also a keeper of prophecy and many who seek to read the course of the All-Mother's plans look to the heavens for their answers.
Artifacts
Aurou's artifacts are many, but the most iconic of them are the gilded wings that grant his most devout followers the power of flight. These constructions of gold, copper, and brass are painfully fused into the backs of these mortals who then command them as though they were natural limbs allowing them to soar through the skies as any avian, or at least those who survive the joining process.
Holy Books & Codes
Aurou's grand avatar delivered his word to the hands of ancient priests who have passed it down to the present-day brothers church of the Reman Empire. This book has known many names and revisions throughout the ages, but is most commonly referred to now as the Voices of Wind and Sea, incorporating the teachings of Upe alongside Aurou's word.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
All winged beasts are considered symbols of the Wingmaster, with the most common symbol being the disembodied wing of a seagull which is common in the Reman Empire. There are no plants associated with his worship. The color white is most commonly associated with him.
Tenets of Faith
Aurou's faith is extensive and its laws many, often associated with the formalized acts of worship demanded by the Wingmaster.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Beyond anything else, Aurou's aims are to place himself as the undisputed king of the Children of Eledra and be recognized as the true successor to the All-Mother. He is one of the most directly responsible for the godswars and continues to further the conflict as he is able from his realm of Vædra beyond his mother's barrier.
