The Inner Circle.

The Inner Circle are a secret society formed initially by the Scholars of the Arcane in the Grand Libraries of Rydia.

Structure

Divided into 6 tiers, with the 6th holding the three leaders of the organization, and each tier below that gaining further access to power within the organization, and access to its knowledge and resources. The lower tiers primarily trade common spells, but the higher tiers share knowledge of forgotten magical treasure, forgotten tomes, and even powerful artifacts, while also gaining increased amounts of power inside the organization and respect and notoriety within its ranks.

Public Agenda

Although a the organization is in large part structured like a cult to Aeus, its main purpose is to gather information, and to keep greater magical knowledge safe (and out of the hands of magekillers and savages).
In their possession is a the pocket spellbook of Naero Craven, an elven wizard who ages back attempted and failed to attain lichdom (among other failed attempts at immortality). This miniature spellbook contains the following spells:

Assets

Currently, Magister Barkpheus is member of the First Circle. This grants him access to scrolls and transcriptions of most common first and second level arcane and occult spells.
