PDMRN Airlocks

The PDRMN uses a plethora of technologies to ensure their airlocks are some of the strongest points on their ships.
Most airlocks are have a simple basis, 2 sturdy titanium doors, with independent pressurization and control for the interior area and door locks that keep the interior safe. However, built upon this is a web of technologies that ensure safety.
Many modern airlocks, especially those meant for human use, will have an emergency gelfield. This is a airlock-like structure, 5-10 cm thick, that is comprised of a thick gel permeated by nanites. Upon a signal, they drop down, and allow people or other large objects through without letting air escape. However, it also has an emergency mode. When activated, any properly chipped person going through the field will be coated in a thin layer of the gel. This will keep in pressure and act as an emergency spacesuit for a brief period of time. The gel absorbed CO2, helping with breathing, but does not contain a air supply. It also protects against the vacuum of space by becoming hard, though it will vaporize after an hour.
Many shuttle exit airlocks have plasma windows over them to allow for extremely rapid departure. While they are expensive to keep running, they are run constantly at ASTAT 2 or below, along with a number of shuttles depending on situation. Drone and Torpedo bays also tend to have them, but that is a redundancy measure rather than an operating procedure.
All airlocks aboard a PDRMN ship can be overidden to vent or locked by the Commander and a few other roles, but they physically cannot have both doors open at the same time without manual access and override.
Many airlocks have external blast coverings, made of a diamond laminated titanium alloy to be used in danger.
