The Bajal

The Bajal is a fairly recent addition to the landscape of Irrum Vath, and is a sprawling camp of outlander bajir at the base of the mountain. The camp consists of over fifty longhouses, each home to up to 20 bajir. The Bajal was created about 50 years ago, when the outlanders came to Irrum Vath. Intrigued by the wildlife surrounding it, they decided to set up camp. Though the denisens of the mountain were originally unwelcoming, trade started opening up between them. Due to their hunting abilitiy, these bajir often kill very dangerous monsters, the bones and flesh of which are often considered valuable. The camp is not often visited by the lymantria, as the bajir prefer to craft their own tools, and often refuse to trade with them. When irra and native bajir go out to hunt, they try and avoid the camp in order to avoid competition. Though the bajir are omnivores, their diet is mostly meat, so when they set up the Bajal, the vegetation in the camp was mostly a nuisance. Now, there isn't even a blade of grass in the camp, and the trees closest to its perimeter have been cut down. Though they were originally unwelcome, these bajir have slowly become accepted by the mountain dwellers. And though they will eventually move on, the Bajal is quickly becoming a fixture of the mountain.
