Sparksteel, Lymantrian Engineer

Deep in the caverns, situated on the edges of a long, snaking river of lava, sits a surprising feature. The home and workshop of a Lymantrian engineer is distinctive in its presence in the depths, shining with an azure light that cuts through the natural orange glow. The arches and walls are made of faded, hammered bronze, and the windows are formed from cracked shards of glass, sealed with epoxy and shoved into place. This is the residence of Sparksteel, a Lymantria who has lived in the depths for several years now.   To hear her tell the tale, the colony she lived in was engaging in greater and greater trades over time. More and more drastic reveals were being considered to be given to the people who dwell under Irrum Vath, and this unsettled the small, insular communities. Eventually, they had reached a compromise. Rather than trade technology that they would rather keep secret, they reasoned, they would trade a member of the colony.   Travelers relating this tale invariably describe the way she leans forward, feelers twitching upwards in humor. She explains that the colony expected her to be as closed off and jealous of her knowledge as the rest. While they knew she had a reputation for sharing her work within the colony, she certainly wouldn't do such a thing as teach those who live under the mountain. The presence of a half-empty bookshelf inside her home, littered with various texts and teaching materials, spoke volumes to the degree that their assumption was in error.   Sparksteel carries a large cannon-like weapon fitted with three large cartridges. It's one of several items that are purely made by her own design, and as such she takes great pride in ensuring the weapon is cleaned and maintained. She can rarely been seen outside her home without it strapped to her back, and its devastating blasts are more than sufficient to handle any sort of threats.
