The Soularium

Sitting in the center of the Artemis Institute facility on Saliv is a large room unlike any other in the building. Hardwood floors stretch across the room to meet dark nearly black walls. Stained glass windows rest along the far side letting tones of yellow, blue, and magenta cascade into the chamber; Inheritor Alliance and Artemis Institute flags hang in orderly rows on the ceiling basking in the filtered sunlight.
Created by Dr. Jasper Artemis and Artemis Institute of Metaspace Sciences in 2669. The Soularium is a large matrix able to collect and hold the souls of those lost to Metaspace breaches and Terminal Breach Exposure. Freed of their cognitive suppression and animalistic instincts they are subject to a new condition: a form of shared consciousness. The Soularium strips each soul of its individuality.
The Soularium sits below the windows at the far end of the room. A large teal crystal slowly pulses rhythmically with Metaphysical light atop a metallic Dias. A strange control panel stretches around the outside of the crystal with no discernable buttons. Instead several smooth Psionic interface nodes sit waiting for input. Many multi-colored lights dance around within the crystal like sentient ink in liquid before dispersing then forming anew. Those with meta-psionic vision can see with each pulse a wave of energy radiates from the device and pushes the flags ever so slightly as if it were a real breeze.

The Reclaimed

Using specialized crystals these Souls can be plucked from The Soularium and placed into mechanical shells called The Reclaimed.
Although not able to completely rejoin society due to their changed nature, The Reclaimed live to help and protect The Inheritor Alliance as they still remember their collective lives before, as well as their fates when they were Terminal.
In their current state their shells are fairly fragile and if one was to be destroyed, quick reclamation of the crystal is top priority as if the crystal breaks the soul is lost forever.
As of 2670 there is still plenty left to learn about both the Soularium and The Reclaimed. New safer shells still need to be developed, The Soularium better understood, and much help is needed for The Reclaimed to grow used to their new life.
