The Masquerade

Encountered in the woods northeast of the colony, the Masquerade identify as a group of engineers and menials on the primary engine decks of the colony ship. Most were burned beyond recognition upon their descent into the hostile forests of Gudrun. Somehow, they were able to evade detection for the first few months after planet fall.
Jaxton Ryder and Mathew Hunter first encountered them during a routine pod recovery mission, where they befriended one named Harkoni.
Harkoni informed them that the ships crew chief is very much alive, and now rules over them in the forest east of Gudrun.
Two decisive battles saw the Masquerade ended as an effective faction, many choosing surrender and integration rather than death.
