The Children of Joy

The Children of Joy were first encountered through the L-Gate on Agaspur, and first made contact with Cayne Neverwinter through a computer terminal on their side of the gateway. The Children of Joy inhabit a world in the L Sector called Selvone. They almost never venture far beyond their underground city.

Beautiful, but only by their own standards, the Children of Joy delight in expressing themselves in their macabre post-human shells.
Despite their hellish appearance, The Children of Joy are skilled poets, writers, musicians, and performers, using their unconventional and disturbing bio-mechanical symbiosis to perform incredible acts of artistic expression.

The Children seek a way to escape the MES storm that has their bizarre sub-sector isolated from the rest of the galaxy. They have been searching since the time of The Scream, and the prospect of being trapped behind the tempest has them desperate for a way out.
Selgar has visited their settlement, The City of Excess and was able to return to realspace with Hette and several other Children explorers.
After a brief stop at Galeta to cure a lingering metaspace sickness, it has been determined that as long as the Children return to either Galeta or their own side of the L-Gate at least once per year, they can ward off the advanced organ decay that their bodies experience when not saturated by MES energy.
The Children now maintain holdings on both sides of the gate, though their presence on Asgapur has been shrouded in secrecy.
