2,000 adults, and twice that number of communally raised children exist in the Teucer system, home to an NMC colony, and the ruins of a dead alien empire pre-dating even the Slyth.   The shapers passed by this area off into the wider galaxy, kept away by either the lack of biomass, or something about the dis-settling ringworld around the sun. Only one expedition has been made down to the ring. Natural resources were found to be abundant, but the wildlife was highly aggressive and dangerous even for a well fitted combat patrol.   The remains of a small flotilla belonging to a dead race of slug like aliens is present in the system, along with a handful of ruined orbital installations near the ring that are thought to also have belonged to them.   In January 2670 an Imago Dei novice explorer named Tachura was able to get a thorough enough survey of a small patch of the ringworld's surface where the New Moon Cooperative felt establishment of a surface colony was safe. A jury rigged pair of system ships the colonists bootstrapped during their long isolation is currently supporting the complicated move down to the scouted area of surface.   A research expedition completed in March 2670 uncovered the ruins or a precursor monitoring station 200 kilometers south of the established colony.
