The Stratis system is centered around a yellow sun and consists of a barren world closest to its orbit, an inhabited planet with a forest moon in the inhabited zone, a gas giant, and a large asteroid belt that separates the gas giant from the inner parts of the system. The gas giant has a barren moon. A ruined space hab orbits the inhabited world, occasionally scattering debris to the planet below as it continues to degrade.
The population on Stratis has not been able to reclaim space flight capabilities for themselves. The locals live in several small settlements made from reclaimed starship hulks that crashed to the planet. These scrap cities are inhabited by Ashen One and Geon primarily, though there is evidence of a few humans living among them.
An investigation by Gurk Samson of the CBSS revealed that the human space hab residents were driven mad by an MES signal being sent through compads, radios, and other communicaiton waves. Any who hear it are driven to bloodthirsty ritualistic practices. Survivors from the hab have reached the surface of the planet, and prey on any passing through their remote region.
