Skandalis is a system orbiting a now dim yellow star. The inhabited planet within the goldilocks zone is a dying world that felt the effects of a shaper invasion. Although the skirmishes on the ground have stopped with the destruction of the shapers, the populace is now faced with trying to keep civilization going as their destroyed biosphere fails around them. 
The cities have emptied and small pastoral settlements exist around them now, with whatever captured scraps of technology the locals have been able to salvage. 
Skandalis also has a gas giant, a small asteroid field, and a barren world. It was once an ocean world that the Fleshshapers drank dry.
