Sarika has a single inhabited planet, though two reside in the habitable zone. The planet is an industrial wasteland, dominated by megacorps at war with one another. Their conflict is visible from space, and it seems that tactical nuclear weapons have been used on the surface recently across a wide battlefront. 
It is unclear how many belligerents there are, or what the alliances between them might be, but the conflict over brand loyalty has grown from one of airwaves and commercials into a military one.  They have no space infrastructure aside from command and control satellites, much like twenty first century earth. 
The Sarika system has a gas giant, an oceanic planet in the habitable zone with no life reported on it, and a large asteroid field created when a dwarf planet broke into pieces many eons ago.
