Order of the Lifegiving Spring

The Order of the Lifegiving Spring was a sunblade order committed to healing the sick and injured in the Iron Stars. Aside from their primary mission they had also clashed with the Black Tide metaspace cult several times over their short life. The order was annihilated sometime between 2668 and 2670. The drifting wreckage of their once proud fleet was found by the sunblade Dathian of the Order of the Five Suns in June 2670, slowly being pulled into the maw of the black hole T919.   Little is known about their origins. The Order of the Lifegiving Spring attracted those with arcane power from across the sectors, traveling in a nomadic fleet from one disaster zone to the next, doing what they could to extend mercy and healing to those who needed it. Their fleet at their height consisted of a cruiser, two runabout merchant vessels modified to be advanced hospitals, and a trio of destroyers responsible for keeping the fleet safe. The Lifegiving Spring occasionally would also be accompanied by a trade vessel during times of replenishment or when large amounts of medical supplies needed to be brought in to a disaster zone. The Lifegiving Spring were unique from most other sunblade orders in the sense that they did not have a sanctuary located on the surface of a planet.   A double agent working from within the Order of the Lifegiving Spring was responsible for their demise at the black hole T919. The Order of the Lifegiving Spring was heading south to Phemno in order to assist with reconstruction efforts on the former Mining Guild controlled world. With instructions provided by the Black Tide, a portal into metaspace was opened and legions of war-shadows appeared on each of the Order's vessels. Their left behind sacred staff-mace weapons, and the heavily encrypted logs of their travels are all that remain of the Order of the Lifegiving Spring.   The efforts of Sunblade of the Temple of the Five Suns , Dathian, uncovered two survivors of the order. One was found in the wreckage of a destroyer drifting in the T919 black hole system. The other was found on Phemno, performing life saving operations and medical care to the miners and guildsmen caught up in the violence there. Both were subsequently rescued and were brought back to UNW space .   The survivors have since elected to settle on Asta near the central oasis on the planet. From there, one day their order may flourish again.
