Etxaurren Empire Organization in Iron Stars | World Anvil

Etxaurren Empire

The Etxaurren Empire originates from a planet in the south of the Iron Sectors by the same name. Aztec in appearance, they are a tribal and brutal people that live, fight, work, and die under a rigid caste system.    At the top, is their incarnated god Huitzilopochtli, recently returned from Metaspace to lead the divine host of Sunblades, bonded Free-Nexi, and endless ranks of war thralls hoping for elevation into the sacred mysteries of the Empire. Below them, at the bottom of this vast pyramid are the slaves. Treated as chattel, and sacrificed in horrifying ways to satisfy the whims of Huitzilopochtli , they are the backbone of the Empire and its endless cycles of conquering and looting. Their empire currently consists of Etxaurren, Brizeno, Maysoon, and possibly other worlds yet undiscovered by more civilized explorers. Marble stepped pyramids to their risen god, and rivers of gore blight the capitals of every claimed world.    Currently the Etxaurren Empire has defended itself from an ill timed attack by combined elements of the United Nations of Worlds, The Knights of Draconis,  The Psionic Academy, and Aiya Tech forces. A counter-attack on Rawhani saw the Etxaurren's turned away, but the message was clear.    No one is safe.   The Etxaurren Empire would make an alliance with the Phemno Mining Guild shortly after this, both organizations interested in the procurement of minerals, other resources, and ever expanding amounts of slave labor. The Guild had ships, and the Etxaurren had the hardened warriors and slave soldiers needed to keep mining crews operating, and Guild shipping vessels safe. This alliance was soundly defeated at the Battle of Brizeno in early 2669. A planetside invasion by the newly minted Iron Stars Federation forces followed, culminating in a ferocous battle around the ruins of New Astria.   During this battle, Venser Reach and Dr. Truffles of the United Nations of Worlds met with the war god of the Etxaurren, a psionic Slyth who had taken on the name of an ancient Aztec diety to help sell his cult of personality to the fervent sunblades and free nexi of the Empire. Seeing his warriors defeated, the slave pens opened, and the destruction of his allied fleet in orbit, a peace accord was struck.   The Extaurren would return to their home planet, and would agree that the slaves would be freed there. They also agreed to inspections by the Exchange of Light to ensure the agreed on societal changes occured or were on the way to being completed.
