This world was once quarantined by a tyrannical despot. Banks of ground based mass drivers and a dense asteroid field littered with defense satellites kept ships from taking off and are more than able to shoot down any approaching vessels.
A resistance movement supported by the Elysium Protectorate unseated the despot, and his allied merc forces under the banner of Nexcorp. 
Erdoza today struggles in rebuilding as organized crime flourishes, and black markets for all manner of household supplies spring up across the planet. Although the Protectorate has rebuilt the most critical infrastructure, the quality of life for the people here has not changed much between regimes.
Life on Erdoza began to change for the better in early 2670 as several contracts placed on local Erdozan criminals began paying out. Several pockets of crime and corruption were cleared in a matter of months and this reformation shows no sign of stopping. The heads of the surviving crime families were arrested as they attempted to flee the planet in April 2670. Operation Bilgewater, orchestrated by Protectorate spies and hired guns saw the power of the families dismantled, and Erdozans everywhere breathed the first sighs of relief since The Scream.

Forgia

The enclave of Forgia is a semi autonomous region on Erdoza that were the backbone of the resistance when the planet was ruled by its previous despot. The Forgians have home rule when it comes to domestic matters and follow the stance of the Protectorate when it comes to foreign affairs. This enclave numbers in the tens of thousands and is revered across the Protectorate as producing some of the best weapons and armor in the Iron Stars. Every industry in this enclave is centered around the production of arms, or sustainment of the workforce used to produce them. They are wary of outsiders, even from within the polity.
