The Chloe system has a bright yellow sun at its heart, and consists of a molten world in a close orbit, a temperate world with a barren moon, and a gas giant close to the system edge.
Originally settled during the Second Wage of Exploration, and the beginning of the Tenebrian-Black Sun War, the cities are hardened and were built with an Empire design philosophy ensuring the majority of the population can make it into shelters if bombardment occurs. This defense minded civil infastructure incorporates robust anti-air defenses to blunt landing attempts from drop pods and landing craft. These ready made defenses served both the Tenebrian Empire, and the post Scream Tenebrian Remnant well in the defense of this world before it eventually fell to United Nations of Worlds forces after the surrender of the Remnant.
In the years since the fall of the Tenebrian Remnnant, the world had returned to mostly peaceful standing and is slowly becoming a UNW world. Dax Withers has been made governor and political agitators have been relocated off world to other areas of the region. The surface remains urbanized in the form of a few large cities and outlying villages. Remnant military assets on the surface have reverted to planetary defense force control.
Chloe's peaceful progression to a beacon of stability was shattered in late 2669 when the Elysium Protectorate agent Jimmer Pitkins sold weapons to a terrorist group hiding out on one of Chloe's orbital defense platforms. Within an hour the terrorists had hijacked the platform , and turned its powerful laser weapons toward the surface of the world, glassing hundreds of kilometers of farmland and forest. A formative experience for a group of United Nations of Worlds agents saw them deployed to Chloe to retake the platform, and assist those on the ground who needed help.
Chloe bears the mark of the Third Law of Maltech, having the distinction of being the victim of a weapon of planet destroying power, and into late 2670 the planet's people remain scarred, doing what they can to try to restore their damaged planet, though the atmofilters everyone is now forced to wear, and the near constant mag storms are stark reminders that life on Chloe is forever changed.
