Terran

The name "terran" comes from the Terran word for "of the earth", the name chosen by the terran governments reflecting the species' identity as the only subterranean species of humans.

Terrans resemble the common sapiens in many ways, but are short and stout, muscular and very hairy.

Average Technological Level

Terrans are among the more technologically enlightened species of humans, and have made great progress in the field of material development, particularly the science of using fire to turn earth materials into useful building materials. Terrans have invented glass, brick and mortar, fireplace and chimney, which are being slowly but steadily adopted by other humans above ground as well.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Terrans, being the only humans living underground, have not been politically active in the dynamics between humans. However, despite their inaction above ground, both terran governments and individual terrans have historically maintained close ties with many other species.
Unlike many other species of humans terrans have not adopted the social practice of worshipping titans, having viewed underground titans as invaders to fend off or at the very least run away from. They have, however, recently started speaking with titans to establish a mutual non-intrusion agreement.
In the early ages of terrans' interaction with other species, terrans were dubbed "dwarves" by many due to terrans' short stature. The term is no longer used, and it is considered not only offensive but outright incorrect because terrans are not the shortest intelligent species, humans or not, known in the world.
