Sapiens are a species of upright-walking animals with two arms and legs.

Growth Rate & Stages

Sapiens generally live for at least fifty years without death from injury or disease, and those who have access to better alchemical services can expect to live up to eighty years. There are some records of sapiens who are or were alive more than hundred years after their recorded years of birth, although the credibility of such records are dubious and may be attributed to imperfect administration.

Ecology and Habitats

Sapiens are famous for being the most adaptive and expansionistic species of humans, capable of thriving in a much greater range of environments, even where many other humans would have difficulty, or outright fail, to even survive. As long as there is reliable supply of water and food, sapiens are known to have established permanent settlements in warm grasslands, rough forests, lands of burning sand, and freezing mountains of ice and snow.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Sapiens are capable of digesting a noticeably wider range of food, even those that are toxic to other species of humans and animals, although they cannot eat common grass. Sapien diet includes but is not limited to cereals, fruits, seeds, meat and eggs. It should be noted that some cultures and individuals of sapiens make a conscious decision to not feed on other animals or even edibles taken from animals.

Gender Ideals

Like most species of humans, sapiens consider gender to be an abstract social concept, determined by each person's sense of association (or lack thereof), rather than a trait or a viable metric of categorizing individuals. No personal traits or social roles are tied to any gender, although gender identity as association leads to some degree of gender roles being followed depending on culture or community. It is also not unheard of for a sapien's gender to change over the course of their life. Although not yet considered firm metrics, some factors to a sapien's gender identity include how strongly one identifies (or does not identify) as either gender, how aware one is of their gender identity, and how significant an attribute one considers their own gender to be. Sapiens acknowledge two extremes of genders, namely male and female.

Average Technological Level

Sapien technology level is neither particularly advanced nor particularly under-developed. Due to not possessing any innate ability to attune themselves to the works of natural forces of the world but possessing notably nimble hands among humans, sapiens have advanced the most in various fields of engineering, although they are still significantly less developed than terrans.

• Strength: Sapiens are above average in terms of raw strength among humans, although nowhere near the strongest human species such as giants. Agility: Even for two-legged ground humans, sapiens are neither fast nor nimble. Endurance: What sapiens lack in strength and speed, they make up with great endurance. Sapiens are capable of carrying out physical tasks for much longer than other humans, and rejuvenate themselves remarkably fast when resting. Common hunting tactic among sapiens is to wound their target with an arrow and follow it until it can no longer run.
