2nd. Battle of Ypres

German Empire attempts to capture a strategic town in Belgium. First use of poison gas on the battlefield.

Western front in 1915 was a pure deadlock, with only few attempts to break it. One of it was made by German Empire at the front bulge surrounding the town of Ypres in western Belgium, defended by forces of French Republic and British Empire (most of it was from dominions, though).   The attack achieved some degree of success - despite Entente outnumbering Germans - due to first usage of poison gas. With lack of proper defensive measures, the effects of its were rather... decisive. Despite this, the German Empire failed to capture Ypres, making the battle end inconclusively.
