A Romanian offensive into the Austro-Hungarian Empire ends in one of the greatest disasters in contemporary military history.

Romanians entered the world with arrogance and belief that Austro-Hungarian Empire was dead. They hurried to capture as much territory as they could before Brusilov ends up steamrolling everything from the east. Unexpectedly to them, Brusilov finally called off the offensive.   This allowed Habsburg monarchy and kingdom of Bulgaria to redirect its attention towards Romania. Its armies were swiftly defeated - they were vastly outdated, probably the worst on Balkan Peninsula, their commanders were inexperienced and mostly incompetent, and the equipment prepared simply wasn't enough.   2/3 of Romanian army was destroyed by Central Powers. Its capital was captured, and the remains of it were held only because of extremely unfavourable territory and Russian Army that entered it. Romania was deeply shaken by this military disaster.
