To capitalize on the return of the Thaumaturgy to the world, German Empire creates a dedicated research organisation.

Obviously, the end of a ten thousand years long masquerade and the sudden return of a magic to the world was surprising. Shocking, even. Didn't stop the powers of Earth from immediately trying to take advantage of the new power. Especially countries participating in the Great War were fast to join the new race.   Central Powers used the thaumaturgy as the first ones. And they were also the first ones to institutionalize the new arms race. Kaiser Wilhelm Thaumaturgie Institut was created by the German Empire. Who should lead it was something that was debated for a while. In the end, kaiser chose former head of the Kaiser Wilhelm Physics Institut, a young Nobel Prize winner, Albert Einstein.   The purely scientific and theoretical part of KWTI was to be supported by several specialized departments, including those of engineering, field testing and so on. With Albert Einstein being former physician (that was chosen for this job also due to his intense natural talent towards thaumaturgy), the Central Powers thaumturgy soon drifted to one very 'physical' in subject.
