The Merchant League
United not by any king or emperor, but by the rights of its citizens and the currents of the western trade. The people of the Islands of Cortia and Keton were originally refugees from the wars during the Age of the Great Rebellion. These refugees found the Islands hostile and dangerous, but managed to sustain themselves by working together, building tall walls and living off the sea surrounding them. The first few communities was small and isolated, but over time they expanded and were able to tame the wild jungles on their isles while expanding their fleets.
During the Age of Man a few traders of Keton returned to the port of Manchetham saying that they were swept up in a storm and blew far more west than any before them. They told of strange new people and of a powerful spice that when ingested would release a state of euphoria. Since then the Ketons have sent out several expeditions to the west bringing home large quantities of spice and other exotic goods. In order to protect their trade from pirates and wicked sea creatures, the Ketons have also formed an union with the Crusaders of Cortia. Over the years the Island of Keton have become a major trading hub with the capital of Manchetham full of large merchant warehouses and a large diversity of ethnicities. The Merchant League do not have the same political or military power as other nations in the Iromar Isles. However, they have economic power matching even the Empire of Storvia.
