This is when Jora temporarily blotted out the sun, by opening a portal to the Shadow in its place.

After destroying the Garden of the Sun, Jora stole the surviving Manuscripts from its vaults before bombarding the continent for weeks, until only small island remaind. from the mansucripts Jora discovered the sun was a portal to Anir's divine realm, allowing his magics to influence the world. for centuries Jora plotted for a means to disrupt this portal before he found another group of Anireans, who were already under assault from mysterious Shadow Warriors. these assassins worshiped Yheia, a banished godess from ancient times, their followers normally bound to the Shadow. Jora and the Voss forged an alliance, and Jora moved the Stormkeep into posistion to open a Gate to the Fell. An army of Vampires and Shades they raided the Elven lands of Sya'Nau for a relic the Vosshad lost during their ancient war with the elven peoples. the ark of night.   using the Ark, Jora tore open the sky, right in front of the sun, effectivly canciling its light from the world. many of Anir's lesser priests could no longer draw upon his grace, causing a flood of worry that the god had been slain, only his most senior clerics could hope to prove them wrong, and few remained after Jora's crusade against the Sunlord.   for nine years the black sun reigned. only when King Zealand of Krogar himself strode out to meet the Nightlord did the event come to a close, as Zealands forces managed to bring the Stormkeep low in the winterlands of Sya'Nau, and destroying the ark of night. while they did slay Jora, they did not manage to find the fiends coffin, allowing him to escape.
