Personal history

Yheia was a high Priestess of Anir who fell to darkness when the Khoven was established, her faith twisted by manipulations of her allies. from an early age Yheia was possessed by radical notions that caused other Anirean faithful to be wary of the priestess. her understanding of science and inclusion of the moons of Irindoth seemed heretical as many of the stories Anir's faithful used the sun and the moons as abstract concepts of light versus darkness and good versus evil. When Amnul established the Khoven and the roots of the first Empire Yheia was instrumental in converting many of the Anireans in the region towards Amnul's goals. Despite her unsteady relationship with her fellow Priests, Yheia was quite close to her family, who eventually became ill and could not be cured. at the time Yheia blamed Anir, she felt he ignored her prayers. In truth it was Amnul using potent magics and curses to cause the decay of her family and destabilize the Anirean temples in his regions as part of a plot to sway them towards a darker path. Amnul summoned the High Priestess to the growing capital, where he used his Magic to show her Dwarven and Anerian traitors poisoning her family in false Scrying Pools. Yheia was pushed to the edge, and became unhinged, now believing only Amnul and his inner circle she was manipulated into destroying the Temples within Khoven. a civil war between the faithful of Anir was carefully orchestrated by Amnul, which eventually spilled out into nearby kingdoms. over the years, Amnul would press Yheia further into her madness, using the loss of her family and the hate that built within her soul to craft a powerful weapon. Yheia, a talented priestess, would learn of ways to draw upon the Divine without pleading Anir for guidance, by drawing upon the souls of her followers. This dark magic, and perversion of Anir's faith led the Sun Lord to send down an Angel to intervene. The Angel was instructed to reveal the truth of her loss to Yheia, to guide her back to the path. While the Angel did manage to show her the truth, Yheia was far to unhinged to believe the angel, using her Dark Magic to trap the Angel and draw upon his Divine Essence. The Angel did manage to turn Yheia's paranoia against her ally Amnul however, and finally she turned on him soon after the Angels intervention. Empowered with the Angels Divine Essence Yheia nearly overwhelmed Amnul as she strode into his antechamber, only the unfortunate timing of Yheia's attack is what saved Amnul as two of his inner circle were present when she attacked. At first Amnul considered having the Priestess executed, or a staged assassination, she was a powerful figurehead and her death could still prove useful. The First Emperor was more curious about the Priestess' rapidly deteriorating form however, the Divine Essence and Dark Magics had began to tear away at her body and mind. Amnul had the Priestess brought to the Plane of Shadow where she was kept in stasis a group of Khoven Magi sent to oversee the Priestess' condition at all times. While her mind was wracked by madness, she was far from helpless, over the next few centuries Yheia would whisper to the Khoven who poked and prodded at the trapped Priestess, who drew power from the Shadow itself. her Divine Spark was unstable and tearing away at her form but the Khoven and Yheia's power drew upon the surrounding Fell to empower her further. As Amnul grew more distant from his underlings, the Khoven Magi became more chaotic and disorganized. The Mages who were originally sent to oversee Yheia's imprisonment and study her condition saw opportunity for power, and so released the Priestess from her centuries long torment. this was the final breath of the Khoven Empire, and the beginnings of another. Yheia had transformed into an Outsider, her stolen Divine Essence and twisted soul bound to the Fell of the Shadow Plane. Her captors, now her followers, would convert others to their Cause bringing many of the Khoven into the Shadow Plane where they escaped the ruin of their kingdom. Yheia hallowed a portion of their souls and filled it with Fell to infuse them into her followers twisting them into Shades. Yheia and her newborn Shades began to steadily expand throughout the Plane of Shadow, a dark combination of Divine and Arcane practices the Shades of Voss bid their time in returning to the Material Plane.

Education

Yheia was educated from a young age on the tannates of Anir, and eventually was a student of Amnul himself in her later years after he began to manipulate the priestess.

Employment

Yheia spent her youth as a priestess, and soon found herself in the position of High Priestess as Amnul's kingdom grew. After centuries of imprisonment the survivors of Khoven escaped into the Shadow Plane with Yheia's Shades, the survivors pledged themselves to the Living Shadow and worshiped her as a God.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Yheia, through tremendous loss and manipulation, has emerged more powerful than even Amnul and in a position of much greater power. Yheia, using the knowledge of the Arcane and the Divine, had her Armies positioned in the Shadow Plane to strike a devastating blow against the Elves of Sya'nau during long night in a viscous return to the Material Plane.

Failures & Embarrassments

Yheia was helpless to save her family, and was manipulated my Amnul driving her to madness and heresy and eventually imprisonment within the Fell.

Morality & Philosophy

Yheia believes her loss and suffering is what led to her great power, and has imparted that into her Faithful, they follow in the Living Shadows footsteps before becoming Shades and embracing a fraction of her Power within themselves.
