True Names

When The Fatescribe Iribus constructed the Stone of Fate, the magic that the Firstborn used to ensnare the Titans was sealed as well. When the need for Mortals arose to avoid a war between Gods, Iribus and Oros tapped into the Stones properties and twisted their purpose together. every Being in Creations True Name holds a power within them, drawn to the Stone of Fate. knowing this name and the proper spells grants one immense control over them. Iribus is said to barter knowledge of True Names within All that is Lost, though at a great price.

Manifestation

Mortal True Names must typically be invoked in conjunction with spells to obtain any notable effect other than discomfort of the name being spoken aloud. Outsiders however, are more vulnerable to the effects of their True Names and as a result they guard them cloesly. An Outsiders True Name being spoken in simple conversation can lead to disastrous and often unintended effects.

Localization

Outsiders True Names are more potent in their Native Planes, leading to the most potent results when spoken. True Names of Outsiders being spoken when they are outside their Native Plane is often a first step to banishing or exiling them from that realm entirely. A Mortals True Name remains the Same regardless, though it often strips them of their ability's to defend against magical effects, and can cripple their ability to physically defend themselves. It's not uncommon for a True Name to be used to enslave a being, Outsider or Mortal.
