Because of his self inflicted blindness, Tamalth relied heavily on his hearing when some one invaded his lair, he would often click and whistle lowly as he tilted and swayed his head about to find even the smallest change in sounds.

Special abilities

At one point Tamalth had a Divine Spark he used to breathe live into molten stone and forge Dragons in his likeness. This Spark was used quickly to birth the species however.

Personal history

Tamalthphiarrias was the first dragon spawned from the calamity of Bahamut and a Primordial Fire Elemental slaying one another upon the virgin world of Irindoth. Tamalth was the progenitor of the species, followed by several other dragon like creatures from the carcass of Bahamut. Tamalth devoured his godly father, swelling the Dragon to gargantuan proportions, the blood of Bahamut staining the land with the raw chaotic magic of his Divine Essence. Tamalth used this magic to spawn the other dragons, his first servants. Tamalth allowed for a small portion of the magic he wielded to be used by his followers, to expand the species and their budding empire before the Gods could resume their work on Irindoth, by the time the Giants and the Dwarves had been born the Dragons had been the sole sentient species for hundreds of years already. Tamalth was thrilled by the prospect of a new race to subjugate to his will, to place below the lesser Dragons and keep peace among his many slaves in his mind. The Firstborn Dragon did not see Mortals, or even other Dragons, as we do. To him they were playthings, and toys he and the Gods created for entertainment and servitude. Because of this, Tamalths empire never knew peace, there was always conflict among the Dragons and the arrival of Mortals simply gave them an outlet for that aggression. For generations the Giants, Dwarves and Dragons waged war until Tamalths arrogance became the undoing of his empire. Refusing to focus on one front, striking one side down permanently, Tamalth insisted on enslaving all the Mortals at once, even sending an entire Dragon Brood to begin subjugation of the Elves who had remained far from the conflict. This brought a third army to bear against Tamalth and his Dragon Broods, who brought with them a strange new magic he'd not encountered before wielded by their Highking Indithas. Suddenly, entire weyr's of Dragons were driven mad by a box Indithas carried with him. Thinking his slaves weak, Tamalth took flight himself to meet Indithas and his forces in ancient Krogar. Tamalth unleashed an avalanche of burning stone, slaying entire battalions of Indithas' forces before the Dragon landed by a high mountaintop to bellow taunts at the Mortal King. Indithas strode out alone to meet The Dragon Lord, infuriating Tamalth that this lowly insect would dare face the Darkener alone. Deciding death was too simple a punishment, Tamalth lured Indithas into the mountain where he intended to torment him for a time before swallowing him to a slow and fiery death. Using his magic Tamalth shrank himself enough to slither into the caves of that dormant volcano, projecting his voice to Indithas. Even when the Libraries of Sya'Nau were intact there were no conclusive records of what transpired between Indithas and Tamalth after that, only that Indithas was slain and that Tamalth was driven mad and refused to ever again leave that sleeping volcano. Tamalth remained here, using the last of his magic to animate Stone Dragons in his likeness to protect him from some unnamed evil. Dragonkin, Kobolds, and even Orcs, would occasionally bring Tamalth tributes, granting him an ever growing hoard of trinkets and baubles. For years Tamalth accumulated wealth in this way, often devouring those that came to offer tribute in his fear.  When the Ascendant came to call upon Tamalth, and use his great wealth in their efforts to rebuild Highgate the Great Wyrm attacked in his madness, lost to memories and delusions. Despite the Great Wyrms insanity, Tamalth nearly killed the Ascendant several times during their battle which obliterated the upper portion of Tamalths mountainous lair. Tamalth died looking upwards towards alien stars, raving mad while the Ascendants used his ill gotten gains for the security of the remaining Mortals.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Tamalth is the progenitor of a whole species, arguably the most powerful species to exist on Irindoth.

Failures & Embarrassments

Tamalth's hubris and arrogance led to his downfall at the hands of Indithas and his mystical box, Driven mad by its contents Tamalth spent the majority of his life cowering under a mountain.

Mental Trauma

Tamalth was driven insane by Indithas, and cowered from every shadow that invaded his cavernous lair and mistaking any Elf that entered his lair for Indithas. He suffered from potent hallucinations for the majority of his life following his encounter with Indithas.

Intellectual Characteristics

Tamalth was at one time clever and devious, his birth from Magic and Divine Essence granted him a special insight into the mystic arts which he passed unto the Dragons he spawned from the remains of Bahamut. His arrogance led him to make enemies of his kin however, which led to splinter factions rise among them as more and more 'devolved' to adapt to different environments and escape the yoke of Tamalths rule.

Morality & Philosophy

To Tamalth, everything was designed to be enslaved by him, or used by him in some way. So clearly superior was Tamalth, that even other Dragons paled in comparison to the mighty red Dragon.
