Skatym

A holy metal formed from Divine Essence in the Higher Planes, it serves as a material for Angels to use in their forging.

Material Characteristics

Skatym appears made as if from pure light, bright and radiant with a faint gold glow to it. almost more a liquid light than a metal.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Skatym is warm to the touch, and as its name implied, very bright. though if a darker god forges their essence into Skatym it takes on a darker touch to it, appearing as if it radiates darkness and on occasion a god may forge Skatym in such a way as to appear a normal weapon.

Geology & Geography

Skatym is a gift from the Gods, born from their Essence. Some Skatym could be made from anyone with Divine Essence, or who have trapped one with Divine Essence such as a particularly Powerful High Cleric or the Chosen of a God.

Origin & Source

Divine Essence, generally Gods are the only ones who can create Skatym or exceptionally powerful Celestials.

History & Usage

History

Skatym was created by the Gods to arm and armor their soldiers during the Dawn Wars to forge the whole of creation.

Discovery

Meldrus discovered the ability to forge a metal from his very essence early during the Dawn Wars, arming the Angels that were similarly created directly from the essence of the Gods.

Everyday use

Skatym is used to arm and armor Angels mostly, though on occasion Skatym is used to forge a blessed weapon for a Mortal champion of a God.

Refinement

Skatym is only forged by Gods and Celestials, as they use their own Divine Essence to mold and forge the material to shape. the material is otherwise indestructible by all but the most powerful magics.

Before the Long Night many Gods had numerous champions who wielded Skatym weapons and Armors. as these gods died so did their blessed weapons rendering them inert.
