Red Sails
the Red Sails is a merchant guild run by the Duyer house in Highgate. their current Leader is Jesil Duyer, a young intelligent woman who assumed leadership after her Father Ruben passed away from mysterious illness.
Structure
the Red Sails are a loose collection of Merchants who operate with the sanction of the Duyer House, as they control most of the Ports in Highgate they have a tight power grip upon the City.
Public Agenda
as with the other Merchant Guilds in Highgate, the agenda for the Red Sails is Profit, power and expansion of their territory and control.
Assets
the Red Sails control the majority of the Ports and Harbors in Highgate, meaning that should any other Guilds wish to use them they Negotiate with the Red Sails and the Duyers. they also own many of the buildings and land that the central city has.
History
the Red Sails began as a small fleet of Trading vessals constructed for use by the Duyers in Farport. the Duyers would loan their ships to many in return for goods and favors, eventually claiming ownership of one of the main Harbors in the City of Highgate where upon the Duyer House migrated shortly after. three generations of their clever buisness practices later and Duyer are the defacto rulers of Highgate in all but name.
