Dark Elves from Ravan, have a temper that traces back to their Dark Elf heritage though they control it better. Dark Elves from Ravan, rarely bow, or expose their back or neck to anyone, as they always expect assassination attempts. they enjoy taunting enemies in an attempt to goad them into foolish actions, and have an elves patience in that they will sometimes wait when expected to strike.

Ravan sailors wear sharkleather coats to help protect them from the icy cold, and often wear protective eyewear to shield their senitive eyes from the glare of the sun off the ice snow and seawater. other attire is spidersilk and often dark and purple in color.

Built to withstand extreme cold, and shrug off sleet and snow, Ravan architecture is angular in design, and rare is it to see a tower in the frozen wastelands, the high winds make it difficult and dangerous to have any tall buildings.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Many Ravan Elves own ships or sail, making the coasts of Ravan extremely dangerous, taking loot and slaves from many a raid. Slaves are used as currency in some instances, and they are considered a resource, as they are rarely fed and worked to death in most cases.

Dark Elf children are rare, as with any elven child. Female elves ovulate significantly less than a human or dwarf. as such they have fewer children, but live much longer lifespans. A Ravan Child is taken from their parents early on and placed into schools for their profession as early as they learn to speak.

Ravan Elves return to their parents decades after they finish training, and only after satisfying the instructors that they are ready to be of use, as an early death for Dark Elf is devastating for their culture. it is not uncommon for Dark Elf to be gone from their families for nearly 30 years during their initial training.

If a female or a male express thoughts of dominance of any one sex, it is highly frowned upon, and often leads to a vicious beating. killing another Dark Elf, is frowned upon as well, though it still happens in secret assassination's. The outright murder of a Dark Elf for any reason is an affront of the highest degree.

These exiles left the Dark Elves centuries before to escape the Matriarchy, as such they have a more gender neutral view of the sexes, though women tend to be more powerful physically still.

the Dark Elves of Ravan tend to be naval seafaring pirates, if one is gifted a ship it is a sign of great affection , either between family members or potential mates

Women are only expected to remain at home until a child no longer needs to be nursed. otherwise men and women enjoy similar freedoms. only the more powerful house/family determines anything.
