Personal history

One of the few remaining Firstborn, Meldrus was the Forgemaster who helped to craft worlds and the Planar boundaries. Meldrus and the other Firstborn, who would come to be known as the Dwarf Gods, were dedicated to the creation of reality while other Firstborn like Tharyzdon cleared out the Elementals and Chaos Beasts who infested the primordial materials Meldrus and his brothers and sisters needed.Following the incident with Tharyzdon and Ara, The Tablets of Fate were created by Meldrus and his craftsmen using the divine essence of each of the Gods. Meldrus and his kin took great pleasure in crafting their followers, the Dwarves. infusing them with the same will they themselves had in creating wondrous things and reshaping nothing to something. Meldrus took a more direct approach early on with his children than the other gods like Umeran, directly dictating divine laws and the order of their social structure, even instilling a bloodline from his most impressive creation Argan. only after this were Meldrus and the other gods content to leave their creations to follow the laws they had enacted, and for a time they knew peace. Meldrus and the other Dwarf Gods watched as the war between the Dragons and the other Mortals escalated, this unchecked race led by Tamalth threatened everything the Dwarf-father had forged. The whispers the Dwarven pantheon sent their clerics, encouraging them to end the war and unite with the Giants that Obin had created. The Dwarf-Giant alliance was short lived, shortly following the Dragon Empires ruination the Giants attempted to enslave the Dwarves, driving them deep into their homes where they worked on the creations Meldrus had instructed them. Meldrus and Obin nearly came to blows, only the Laws of the Tablet kept them from following their kin. Instead the Dwarf gods instructed their creations to do all in their power to destroy the traitorous Giants, instilling the infamous Dwarven grudge deep into their history. In the end, the final blow against the Giants came at great cost, one that none of the Gods had foreseen. This Curse of Stone caused both the Giants and the Dwarves to lose their immortality and lessen their connection to their creators. Meldrus and Obin would never forgive the other, the atrocities of that war lingering for eons after the fact. Meldrus and Umeran would also come into conflict, once again over a difference in methods of creation. Umeran speaking out against the Dwarves reckless destruction of the natural world in their efforts to create things of metal and stone, Meldrus and the other Dwarf Gods paid little head, the world was vast and could easily grow new forests to fuel any number of fires. So again, Meldrus' creations found themselves at war with the Elves, which eventually came to an end after the Gods reluctantly accepted their creations armistice. Meldrus' and the other Dwarf Gods retreated into the celestial mountain, still one of the most invasive pantheon among Mortals they took up less and less time with other Gods as did their Creations with Mortals. During the Long Night, the Dwarf Gods went silent and the worst was presumed, they they had been obliterated along with any number of other Gods lost during the catastrophe. While Meldrus eventually made a return, he found himself alone within Dwarfhall, and his creations on the Mortal Plane had splintered with one clan abandoning faith entirely and taking arms with the newly risen Asmodeus. Still bound by the Tablet Meldrus could only whisper influence through his clerics, his influence in the world dramatically weakened following the loss of the line of Argan.
