Jesters Plunder
it's Pazaak from Star Wars. don't @ me.
A popular card game created by Jedek Arkan following the long night.
History
Jedek was always fond of gambling, but felt that risking it big on games of chance wasn't as interesting as games where you could manipulate the rules to a degree. so during the long night, the Pirate Lord created a new card game based off Blackjack to an extent. since then it has spread to nearly every civilization, becoming very popular, as it was originally taught to pirates and mercanaries they introduced the game to a number of people following the Long Night.
Execution
each player has a deck of cards, their personal deck, and a standard deck. their personal deck contains specailty cards, where as the standard deck has only cards numbered 1-10. players draw 10 cards from their personal decks, and choose to keep 5. these five cards last for the set(first to three won hands) upon each players turn a card is drawn from the standard deck, and placed unto their field, the goal of the game is to get as close to 20 without going past, the first player to do this three times wins the game and the pot. at the start of each palyers turn they must draw a card from the standard deck, then they must choose to play a card from their hand, draw an additional card from the standard deck, or lock in for the rest of the hand.in the event of one or more player reaching 20, or otherwise teing on the same number, the victors play a seperate hand of Jesters Plunder, following the same rules until one victor for the hand emerges. betting can happen once per cycle(when the first player to draw a card from the standard deck is about to draw another card)
Components and tools
Special cards numbered 1-10. blue cards add to the players field, red cards subtract, and gold cards add OR subtract the value from the field. standard cards in the Standard deck only add to the field in a typical Jesters Plunder game, though some establishments play with wild decks, where the Standard Deck includes cards that subtract from teh field as well. some institutions expanded upon the game, and printed Black Cards that steal(or add value) to the other players field.
