Golia Tree
A special kind of tree that reacted with the Wild Magic of Sya'Nau centuries before the Long Night.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Golia Tree's are a peculiar type of genome, they grow deep and spread their roots wide. Their leaves are a bright blood red all year round, and feed on latent magic energies as well as the light of the sun and water.
Biological Traits
Golia's are large thick trunked tree's with bright red leaves and berries that seem to change depending on their environment. Golia's in northern Ravan produce a bittersweet fruit called Snowberries, while Golias in the Ravan heartlands near Mythnara produce a sweet and smooth flavored berry that is often used in Skytear wine and other Elven sprites.
Genetics and Reproduction
Golia Tree's produce a series of berries that contain small seeds. these are spread through birds and other creatures that consume the fruit or even the wind in some instances where the seed takes root if it's close enough to a portal or fracture to the Wilds.
Growth Rate & Stages
Golia's grow in varying stages, depending on the power of the portal to the Wilds they draw energy from. Near Mythnara Golia Tree's can range anywhere from 2.5 cm a year to 100 cm.
Ecology and Habitats
Golia's are native to the Wilds, and can only exist on the Material plane when they are near enough to a portal. Golia's have been spotted in the snowy lands of Ravan, down into northern Argantas. there is a series of Golia's contained within the greenhouse of Caelfall that maintains a portal to the Wilds to maintain them.
Biological Cycle
Golia's react to the Wilds 'seasons' growing for 6 months, and then they stop to grow seeds to spread, in a never ending cycle. Golia's eventually reach a point where they snap under their own weight.
