Public Agenda

Dykung seek to die in combat, that their warrior spirit can be joined with their fallen brothers and sisters. Dykung seek no coin, lands, or titles only glory and reputation.

Assets

Dykung are talented smiths, learning to draw iron from any source they can such as bogs and even refined blood.

History

Dykung began as a warriors code for Dwarves and early Humans who were adapting to their new station in life. Dykung promoted each warrior to strive for glory on the battlefield, dedicating themselves wholly to the art of war. Dykung has even been adopted by Elves to a degree, many of their warriors regarding the Warriors Faith with respect if nothing else. The ways of Dykung have sparked many conflicts, the need for warriors of the faith to prove themselves constantly putting them at odds with those who strive for peace. Many kingdoms have outlawed the practices of Dykung, even as they privately hire Dykung mercenaries for their wars.

Mythology & Lore

Dykunites believe that their weapons and armor become holy relics, empowered with the glory of battle after every victory, after a certain number of battles its not uncommon for Dykunites to sleep with their armaments. Dykunites all strive to die in battle, though the manner in which they die matters a great deal. dying without drawing blood upon their weapons is considered a great disgrace, and unworthy of their afterlife, damned to haunt their battlefield in hopes of finding one final battle to redeem themselves. Fallen Warriors are taken from the battlefield, and drained of their blood by their comrades, the iron is extracted and used in repairs for their brothers and sisters. Warriors who die in combat have their armaments retrieved, and if time permits they are smelted down to be reforged and reborn for new warriors. As swords and armors became more readily available, Dykunites refused to allow any of their followers to use these lesser objects. Dykunites harvest their own iron to be used in their smithing, their designs are simple and pragmatic designed to last a lifetime.
