Black Ichor

The base form of many a demon before they assume a greater form. Even when a Demon 'evolves' or possesses a victim, a Demons blood is still Black Ichor.

Anatomy

Black Ichor is an aggresive pile of black sludge that seeks to infest and corrupt anything it can.

Biological Traits

Black Ichor can appear in any volume from a few ounces to a large ocean within the abyss. it's unclear if Black Ichors possess individuality or are a single conseciousness. Black Ichor cannot animate itself outside of the Abyss without attatching itself to a Host, this can be anything from simple materials to living hosts.

Genetics and Reproduction

Black Ichor most often seeks to infest targets, anything Black Ichor comes into contact with can be corrupted, possessed, or infested to some level. Most Famously Black Iron was first produced by prolonged exposure to Black Ichor from slain Demons.

Ecology and Habitats

Black Ichor preffer darkness, though its unclear if Black Ichor has an aversion to light or is simply aware of its improved deadlieness in the dark.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Black Ichor becomes 'inert' after a short time when not infesting a host. while Black Ichor cannot animate itself for long periods of time without Soul Essence or leeching power from a host.

Black Ichors are quite literally everywhere in the Abyss, the very ground one walks in the 'higher' planes of the Abyss are actualyl Black Ichors who've taken the form of another creature or corrupted it most likley.

Average Intelligence

Most Black Ichors have a simple intelligence, a desire to infest and corrupt, though sometimes when Greater Demons choose to revert into a Black Ichor to better serve their purpose they retain all of their cunning and personality.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Black Ichors have no clear senses though they seem very aware of their surroundings and have shown to be patient and cunning in their attempts to infest targets.

Civilization and Culture

History

After the Fall of Asmodeus and the death of Tharyzdon The Abyss was saturated with the Mad Gods corrupted blood. this blood mingled with the raw Elemental Chaos that existed there and created the Black Ichor which eventually spawned a whole race of Demons who sought the corruption and destruction of the multiverse. Black Ichor, despite being the essence of all Demons and the source of their power, are treated as animals and often used to infest and corrupt objects for a stronger Demon to use in their personal goals.
