Lizardic Language in Irillen | World Anvil

Lizardic

Lizardic is an offshoot of draconic; barley a dielect, more of a regional variation or slang. While Lizardfolk and dragons share some characteristics, they have more in common with the rarer dragonkin (sometimes called dragonborn or dragonfolk) making they're version of the language more similar to each other's.

They majority of difference comes from effect of the length of life and bipedalality of the shorter lived folk, changing the meaning common phrases depending on who you are talking to. This goes for the majority of scaled races, "Cut tail," will mean something more literal to lizardfolk, to run off to kobolds, something like a flaying to serpentfolk, and would make a dragon look at you questioningly.

Geographical Distribution
