Starting Hit Points. When you choose this Ancestry, your hit point maximum increases by 6.
Age. Tritons reach maturity around age 15 and can live up to 200 years.
Size. Your size varies depending on your sub-race
Creature Type. You are a Humanoid
Darkvision. Accustomed to depths of the ocean, you can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of grey.
Amphibious. You can breathe air and water.
Swim Speed. You gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.
Depth Dweller. You are adapted to the deepest and coldest parts of the ocean, you have resistance to Cold damage.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Primordial

Merfolk Triton

Ability Score Increase +1 Charisma

Size. The smallest of the Tritons, Merfolk average slightly above 5 feet in height while in bipedal form and average 160 pounds.
Siren Song. You have a naturally elegant voice, which can soothe those who hear it. You may take 1 minute to sing a melody or song and use one of the following effects:

• Everyone within 30ft of you who can hear the song has their mood lifted for the next hour. You gain a +2 bonus on Charisma-based checks if you interact with them.
• Allies within 30ft of the song regain hit points equal to 1d6 plus your Charisma modifier.

Once you have used this trait, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
Triton Transformation. As an action, you may transform into your aquatic form, growing a fish-like tail where your legs were and gaining the following benefits:

• Your swimming speed increases by 20ft.
• You can use the Dash action as a bonus action.

While in this form, your walking speed becomes 5 ft. This does not affect your swimming speed.

Cecaelia Triton

Control Over Water. You can cast the Shape Water cantrip with this trait, choose Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma as the spellcasting ability for it.
Intuitive. You gain proficiency in Insight and have advantage when trying to determine lies.
Triton Transformation. As an action, you may transform into your aquatic form, replacing your legs with eight long tentacles and gaining the following benefit:

• You can grapple with your tentacles, gaining advantage on the attempt and allowing your arms to be free. Grappled creatures have disadvantage when trying to escape the grapple.

While in this form, your walking speed becomes 5 ft. This does not affect your swimming speed.

Dagon Triton

Protectors of the Deep. When you enter combat, while wearing armor, you gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your Constitution modifier plus your proficiency bonus.
Triton Transformation. As an action, you may transform into your aquatic form, taking on a more fish-like appearance and gaining the following benefits:

• You gain a +2 bonus to Constitution saving throws.
• You gain advantage on Intimidation checks.

You retain your legs in this form.
