Leshy (LEH-shee)
Leshies are “born” when a skilled druid or other master of primal magic conducts a ritual to create a suitable vessel, and then a spirit chooses that vessel to be their temporary home. Leshies are self-sufficient from the moment the ritual ends, and so they do not depend upon these druids for care, though it is not uncommon for Leshies to maintain lifelong bonds with their creators.
Leshies are as varied as the material used to create their vessels, usually appearing as a bizarre mishmash of various plants or fungi. Their bodies are vaguely humanoid in shape, with numerous characteristics of the plant or fungus from which they were made. Due to the nature of the ritual used to create a Leshy, Leshies begin their lives as adults. As spirits, they do not age, and a leshy could potentially remain in the same vessel forever—though Leshies rarely consider this outcome to be desirable.
Leshies choose and change their names multiple times throughout their lives. These names often represent a facet of their personalities or values, though another common naming convention is to use descriptions of a natural feature they admire. Some Leshies even use a cycle of names that changes to align with natural phenomena, such as names based upon the season or the time of day.

Starting Hit Points. When you choose this Ancestry, your hit point maximum increases by 5. Age. A Leshy's vessel does not age and cannot be aged by magical means. Size. Leshies start off as a Small creature, typically around 2 or 3 feet in height and weighing 50 pounds on average. At 5th level, as your power grows so do you. You become a Medium creature typically standing between 4 and 5 feet and weighing 100 pounds on average. Creature Type. You are a Plant Leshy Resurrection. A Leshy's vessel may be ageless but it can still succumb to mortal wounds. Once a Leshy has failed 3 death saving throws, the spirit will leave it and return to where it originated. While a Leshy spirit inhabits a vessel, it forms a connection with it and this connection will remain until the memories of the vessels experiences become distant. This typically takes 1 year for most Leshies but can happen at sooner intervals. While this connection remains, resurrection magic can guide a Leshy spirit back to its most recent vessel if the spirit is willing. Plant Nourishment. Leshies gain nourishment in the same way that the plants or fungi that match your body type normally do, through some combination of photosynthesis, absorbing minerals with your roots, or scavenging for decaying matter. Plant Camouflage. As an action, you can become indistinguishable from a plant by growing and arranging your plant structures and hiding your eyes and mouth. As long as you do not move, you are perceived as a plant unless you are somewhere that may raise suspicions, then a creature can make an Investigation check to discover you. The DC for the check is based on your Charisma. Nature Spirit Magic. You know the Druidcraft cantrip, and can cast it requiring no spell components. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the Entangle spell with this trait, requiring no spell components and without using a spell slot. Starting at 5th level, you can cast Lesser Restoration with this trait, requiring no spell components and without using a spell slot. You may cast Entangle and Lesser Restoration this way once per long rest. You can cast these spells using spell slots if you have them available, requiring no spell components. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. Knowledge of Nature. You gain proficiency in Nature and can add double your proficiency bonus when making a Nature check.
