History Of Iria

Kesha Amadius
The Forgotten Era
Iria came into being by the will of the over gods Gimros and Phydia. They shaped the world into something they were happy with, a safe home where they could watch people grow and shape the world they had made together. Even with their differing oppinions on many things they could all agree that Iria was to be a safe place where they would simply let people live as they wanted. Even so they created four gods who would over see the people and help them with the things that were needed. Each of these dieties understood what Gimros and Phydia wanted for Iria and swore to uphold those ideals and to aid the people but never influence them more than that. Iria continued on with just three races for thousands of years, minor disagreements happened but everything mostly moved forward with little to no problems and Gimros and Phydia slowly faded into the background, happy to just watch while their children lived. The four gods continued to live amoungst the people, helping them with everything they could need.

The first sign of any trouble in Iria was when the Emerald Grove begun to slowly die and decay. Sticking to the ideals of the over gods, the gods did nothing but watch what was happening with the forest and let things play it. It took the people a lot long to realise something was going wrong and by the time they begun to ask for help a threat had already made themselves known to the gods. Iliro was the first to address the Ilcian man who seemed to be at the root of the problem. Amadius didn’t take too nicely to being told off for his actions and his target quickly became Iliro. If he was not allowed to do as he wished he would take the very divinity from those who wanted to stop him. A few years later he achieved exactly this. He, and his group fought against Iliro making sure to lock the god away from the others before they did so. Once they had weakened Iliro enough that Amadius could get close he reached into the god’s chest and stole the divinity from him before killing his body and watching as it disintegrated and returned to the astral plane.

Now with divinity on his side there was little anyone could do about Amadius. The other gods couldn’t seem to do anything about him. Any time they tried he seems to vanish for a short time before he was back, stronger than he had been previously. While they continued to try and stop Amadius gaining power his power and his shadows crept over the land killing anything it contacted which seemed to only increase his power. The other gods spoke of what they could do and it was decided that they would speak to Gimros and Phydia and request aid before all of Iria was lost. They received no answer for days before a group of very confused people seemed to arrive before the group of gods. This hadn’t been the help they had been looking for and none of them were sure what these travellers were supposed to do where they themselves could do nothing.

Surprisingly, to the gods, the outsiders seemed willing to help and while the tide of battle didn’t change they were able to work together to slow the spread of the shadows and fight back against the cretures that fought alongside Amadius. Amadius himself still seemed such a difficult task to face. After three years fighting alongside the outsiders one of them seemed to change the course of battle. Many had missed exactly what happened but the scream of anguish and the sudden ability to capture and restrain Amadius was enough for the gods to deal with that. What they discovered on return was one of the outsiders had sacrificed herself in a way none of them had considered and that had been what turned the tables. Once again the gods reached out to Gimros and Phydia requesting that her life be returned to her for what she had done for them. Once again no answer came for a few hours wehre the gods could only stand by while the family of outsiders mourned their loss before her body lifted from where it lay, life and power returning to her form, and in an instant she stood in the field, surrounded by death and nothing else as her family had returned home.

After the battle was finally over the gods, including their new edition, worked together to clear and remove the many bodies that were left behind. Amadius, who once again seemed unwilling to die, was imprisioned and sealed within the very earth he had torn apart with his shadows. The Elemental lords filled the cursed land with water, place an island atop it and helping to create the large golden city atop it serving as something of a doorway to Amadius’s prison whre Olissa would stay to ensure the god of death couldn’t come back out to damage the world. The god also decided that allowing the world to restart without the pain and memories of the destruction of Amadius was a good idea. They spoke to Gimros and Phydia once again and once again after some time the world begun to change around the, the earth returned to how it had been before, minus the large lake now present in the middle of the island, the gateways to the elemental planes opened up and a few others who had given a lot in the battle were given their own divinity to aid the greater gods, and then the world forgot.

Era of Peace
After the gods removed the memories of the terrible event from those who had survived, Iria began to heal. The elemental lords worked together to heal the land to th best of their ability, turning the large scar left by the battle with Amadius into a lovely crystaline lake to try and hide the damage left behind from the corruption of Amadius. The world entered an era of peace with the three races at the time started to mend and reconstruct what they had lost. Around this time the Ali and the Vy were known to the other races, they were given their own plots of land for them to live and grow. This didn't really bother anyway, both races kept to themselves and didn't cause any harm to anyone, but as more races came to the world, and more land was divided up and the angrier the other races started to become.

It took a few hundred years for the original races to start feeling real resentment for the anyone that viewed the world differently or wanted something different. Those who had the drive or desire to claim more land begun planning to do just that, and small fights begun to break out along the borders. At first theses little fights seemed to be just that, small disagreements that were often solved quickly with little changing, but as it became more normal for raes to grow up with these fights they begun to get more intense and stronger hatreds and disagreements started to form.

Race Wars
For many of the races who live shorter lives the desire for war and the hatred of different races is more apparent than anything. The way fighting for your race has become something considered normal is a frightening concept for many of the longer living races who have had to adapt in much the same way, either defensiviely or with the same agression. There are very few places remaining in Iria that are considered neutral zones, where no racial fighting is allowed, and there are even fewer borders that aren't contested. Despite the number of wars happening there is very little change to the borders with many able to reclaim anything that is taken when the attacking force either retreats for protection or to attack another point.
