Dol Ethnicity in Iria | World Anvil

Dol

The Dol like the other Elemental Races are less likely to seek out and make friends with the other races. They will call races with similar considerations to their element a friend but are not likely to get into fights for those friends, unless it affects them as well. The Dol are a little less likely to flow with whats happening around them but are more likely to explore further from their homes to learn and experience the world.
Description
The Dol come in many physical shapes and appearances. Many carry obvious traits of the Elemental Plane of Earth, such as blocky features or earthlike skin, but others had earthlike features that were less apparent. To the other races the Dol can often look like they have just walked out of the wall of a cavern with stoney skin, and even gems or crystals protruding from their skin. Their hair, if they have any, tends to look similar to gems in their body looking solid and rigid rather than flowing and soft.
Personality
The Dol tend to be strong and tough, but are often stubborn and oblivious to the things around them. They tend to be indifferent to others and thus in many cases tend to isolate themselves. Despite their size and outward appearance the Dol on average are a very docile race, happy to take insults or jabs from people without tending to lose control of their emotions however, when one is angry it is also very difficult to calm them back down.
Society
Dol can be found anywhere. However, they prefer the mountain ranges to the North east, where the portal to the Plane of Earth is situated within their home city of Grea. Those who have ventured further into the world often find themselves accepted almost anywhere and are often employed to help with building or transporting heavy items and sometimes just as guardians to travelling merchants for their size alone.
Classism

There is little divide in the ranks of the Dol with many of them sticking to their own places and helping one another out. They listen to those with wisdom, those who have proven themselves, or those who have travelled far. Those who have lived with the other races become beacons of knowledge and are trusted as sources of information about that race whether the information they are given is right or wrong. Those chosen by Tyren are rarely seen any higher than anyone else, and rarely use their added abilities to emand respect. When a message is passed from Tyren to them the Dol will listen to it as if it came from their Lord himself but otherwise they are treated no differently if they have no information to offer them.
Justice

As docile as the Dol are there is little need for justice among them. There is rarely and power struggles between them with differences normally just ignored in favour of not losing their emotional control and damaging those who don't deserve it. Those who have had disagreements tend to forget their problems within days and continue on with no problems. There is no theft in Grea as they have immense respect for those who have a craft and would never take from their livelihood.

Those out in the rest of Iria are quick to adopt the forms of justice of those around them, which can create many diverse personalities within the Dol. Many would prefer that there was no need for justice to take place but understand that people have different views. They will rarely act on rage or anger like other races would but they will restrain a being and take them to the correct people to enact justice, even if it becomes something more brutal than they themselves would like to enact.
Religion

Like the other elemental races the Dol worship the current Elemental Lord above anything else. The Dol who venture further from their homes in Grea may find other dieties to acknowledge as worthy but they will always be true to their elemental lord.
Relations

The Dol have a curiosity about the world and others within it. They may be misunderstood a lot but they are always trying to learn how and why people do the things that they do. There are some races that they understand more than others, and ones they just cannot understand and can get into rather deep discussions with those on their differences. They have a kinship with the other mountain dwelling races (Brulani and Silan) and something of a strange friendship with the Idoran, but they are open to friendships with many of the other races once the other races get to know them.
