Vorotong, the God of Death

The oldest God in the Ascended Nine, Vorotong was chosen and elevated to Godhood at the end of the 4th era. In his mortal life, he was the head of an expert assassin and warrior organisation, performing a vast number of targeted assassinations and murders for the political elite of his time. His assassination of the heirless King of Blackpool shook the structure of Iqos to its core, its ripple effects having ramifications for centuries to come. 

He was manifested shortly after, displaying an unparalleled experience with death and murder, but balancing it with great respect for his targets, honouring each one in death, and memorising the names, scarring his body with a mark for each victim. It is said he had no more room on his body when he ascended to Godhood.

As the God of Death, Vorotong has but one role, to guide the souls of every being to the realm beyond. It is a bitter and harsh remit and is one which few people would ever want to mantle. His grim association means very few celebrate or worship him, but those that do follow him are unusually devout, sacrificing many of their luxuries and freedoms to the God.

Rumours spreading deep from the heart of the Theocracy suggest Vorotong and his Speaker are at constant odds with the other Gods, with stories painting him as bitter and jealous of the other Gods.

Manifestation Day- the celebration of Vorotong's acceptance to mantle the God of Death, a grim task no-one else would accept.
