Speaker

Each God in the Ascended Nine has a Speaker, who communicates with their respective Gods and represents their interests in the mortal realm. Together, the nine Speakers convene as the Council of the Prophets to decide on the direction of the faith. 
Speakers are also the only ones who can became the Holy Prophet- when a Holy Prophet dies, the Council of the Prophets convene and select a replacement amongst themselves. A new Speaker is then required to fill the place of the selected Holy Prophet.

Requirements

While there is no specific requirement as the God themself selects their Speaker, the vast majority of Speakers have been major actors within the faith prior to their selection. However certain Gods have specific conditions or preferences; the Gods Hielik and Ados, for example, prefer people of action and typically choose Righteous Zealots or powerful Paladins.

Appointment

When a Speaker is chosen, they will hear the voice of the God, and will be summoned to the Divine Pantheon, and the respective temple of their God. Their ability to enter unopposed is proof of their acceptance by their God, and a grand procession and proclamation through Tastrum is swiftly organised in celebration.
