Duration: Instantaneous   You transfer the life essence of a creature with your own, or vice versa. You can heal up to 2d6 + your spellcasting modifier, using one of the following options:
  • Give: You take necrotic damage up to the amount you rolled while a creature you can reach regains hit points equal to the damage you take.
  • Steal: Make a melee spell attack against a creature you can reach. On a hit, the target takes necrotic damage up to the amount you rolled. You regain hit points equal to the damage dealt.
Constructs and Undead are immune to the effects of this spell.   At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the amount you can heal increases by 1d6 for each level above 2nd.
