Ipholic Plates

The Ipholic Plates formed after the first and second World Fractures. The Ipholic Plates are based on Ipholas' tehtonic plates, but following the World Fractures the crusts were uplifted from the mantle of the earth and broken apart along their tectonic boundaries, which are now ravines spanning miles across and magnitudes deeper.   In the oceans and on land, the formation of the Ipholic Plates has been destructive to trade, now more often supplemented through the use of teleportation magics and the rare airship than before. However, dedicated mages have sought to rebuild sections of the old crusts to make earthen bridges to allow for such trade routes again. These routes must be maintained daily with the magic used to create them, as without it the land bridging the ravine will shift, separate, and fall into the abyss below. Two of these routes are maintained to this day, including the Alarahni Channel for maritime trade with the Alarahni Archipelago. These channels have outposts built on both side of the bridge-like structures in order to control traffic and observe the integrity of the bridging structure.

Mainland Plate

The Mainland Plate encompasses the majority of the mainland continent, including the nations of Stealaway, the United Cities, and the Northern Kingdoms.

Mayacine Plate

The Mayacine Plate houses the eastern regions of the mainland, including the notable Mayacine Jungles. It divides the mainland along the Micarta fault line and the eastern mountain ridge.

Alarahni Plate

The Alarahni Plate, although large, only includes the Alarahni Archipelago, as well as similar island chains, amidst its vast sea. The Alarahni Plate is located to the west of the Mainland Plate.

Wasteful Plate

The Wasteful Plate encompasses the Southern Wastes, the second continent south of the Mainland Plate. Before the World Fractures, the two continents were connected at the Abryean Isthmus, but has since been severed by a canyon reaching into the upperdark.
