The Kingdom of Issaz
Kingdom in Ice
The Kingdom of Issaz is one of the three original dwarven kingdoms, alongside the Kingdoms of Thangon and Drudnik. The kingdom once took up both of the Issaz islands, and their previous capital, Nanzus, resided on the northern island. The kingdom's isolation from most other countries meant that relations were limited besides that of the other two dwarven kingdoms. The dwarven kingdom was particularly focused on mineral mining, rune-crafting, and stoneworking. Most rare minerals are exported from Issaz, with a particular focus on mithril, since the Imali and Armoria islands have no direct mithril source besides mining into the Underdark.Draconic Invasion
The arrival of the draconic invasion affected much of the Imali and Issaz islands. Due to Issaz's isolation, their military might was the weakest of the dwarven kingdoms. Despite this, Issaz's fortifications held the longest against the formation of the Draconic Kingdoms, even more than the defensive city of Abiura in the Taikuri Magocracy. Eventually, however, the capital, Nanzus, fell to the ancient white dragon Acar, who still holds the area; to this day. With this, the northern island was lost to the Kingdom of Issaz, being forced to retreat to the southern island. With the support of the Claws of Ierin and various metallic dragons, Issaz still stands against draconic invasions and has successfully defended southern Issaz. Still focused on mineral mining and rune-crafting, the Issazian military has grown to match the attacks and while it is still the weakest military of the dwarven kingdoms, it is nothing to snuff at.
