The Draconic Kingdoms
The Draconic Expansion
A region composed of 22 separate draconic kingdoms, each ruled by either chromatic dragons seeking to expand their power or metallic dragons opposing them. The area was once primarily ruled by a now destroyed, long-standing magocracy in the northern Korba region by the name of Taikuri Magocracy. The southern Korba region was once under the control of the orcish kingdom of the Mabram Banos. Lastly, the mountainous Issaz islands in the far west of the draconic kingdom were once under the control of the dwarvish kingdom of Issaz. The Beginning of Draconic Rule
The first of the draconic kingdoms rose in power through an ancient white dragon named Pamudurth in the icy hills in the west of Sarkany. Pamudurth's success in gaining and maintaining this land drove rivals toward his kingdom. As separate dragons slowly gained territory, the area fell into constant warring clans. The ancient Magocracy of Taikuri was destroyed, while Mabram Banos was brought low, being exiled to the southernmost parts of Korba. Even the defensible capital of the Kingdom of Issaz was captured by various forces. Despite the work of the metallic dragons and their allies, The Draconic Kingdoms have only expanded in size and power.Modern Day Standing
The Draconic Kingdoms under chromatic rule often do not interact with outside powers except in terms of conflict. The Draconic Kingdoms under metallic rule, though, are often quite sociable with allied powers, with the most aid coming from The Claws of Ierin, The Passat Empire, Mabram Banos, and The Kingdom of Issaz. Not many goods make their way out of The Draconic Kingdoms, with many going in to support the metallic dragons. The few goods that do come out of The Draconic Kingdoms are usually mineral goods, as agricultural development is limited besides that of native growing plants. Primary travel is dangerous in the draconic kingdoms, being done by camel or horse, depending on the region. Due to the presence of a ruined ancient magocracy, many adventurers and archeologist search for various goods in the destroyed or buried cities. This, of course, comes at the risk of angering the dragon who rules the area. There is no capital in The Draconic Kingdoms as territories shift too much between too many clans.
