Inari and the Maanang Tree

According to faeling legend, Inari, Patron of all Faelings, descended from a celestial grove and brought with him the first orange trees. He created a secluded forest in a remote isle in Iota and planted a great tree named Maanang. During every spring, the tree would produce beautiful orange blossoms. Inari loved the orange blossoms so much, he blessed a branch from the Manaang tree, whose orange blossoms would sprout into foxes, wolves, and cats. He called these unique creatures faelings.
