Svirfneblin

Svirfneblin, or deep gnomes as they are more commonly known, are a subrace of gnomes that live in the underdark. While their surface-dwelling cousins are known for their boundless optimism and cheerful mischief, the svirfneblin are serious and suspicious. They survive in the Underdark by maintaining wariness of others and working hard to keep their underground society secret. Svirfneblin are easily distinguishable from their surface-dwelling cousins on account of their grey skin, dark eyes, and their males being completely bald and beardless.
